When it comes to secondhand smoke there is NO risk-free level of exposure.
Even brief exposure to secondhand smoke is dangerous, especially to children and infants. There is growing evidence that third hand smoke, the toxins left behind on clothing, walls, furniture, fabrics and throughout the environment are harmful.
HMP is a collaborative effort among 28 local coalitions, the Maine DHHS (Maine CDC and Office of Substance Abuse) and DOE, supported primarily by the Funds for Healthy Maine with federal grants from the US CDC, SAMHSA, and DOE.
