Nutrition and Exercise
You have heard this message before, good nutrition and exercise are necessary for good health. It is true!
And you have told yourself but.......and another excuse, commitment and responsibility keeps you from taking a walk, joining an exercise class, making breakfast or splitting that sweet dessert with a co-worker.
Take a deep breath and some time to set new goals for yourself.
We don't have to train for a marathon to engage in exercise nor do we need to entirely eliminate sweet desserts.
Setting attainable goals that are meaningful for you is key to making lifestyle changes.
Exercise: 30 minutes of walking a day is a good place to start, only have 10 minutes...try for 3 walks a day each lasting 10 minutes.
Nutrition: The first place to start may be with your portion sizes, learn how many calories you need to maintain a healthy weight and make adjustments to what you are eating.
Then look to increase vegetables and fruits, these wonderful foods are your best allies in good health. Frozen vegetables and fruit can be an economical and convenient way to add delicious nutrients into your diet.

Get outside with the kids this winter * Have fun
*Don't forget sunscreen, snow creates a reflective surface that
intensifies the UV exposure. Use at least SPF 30.
* Dress with layers, non-cotton long johns, then an insulating
layer, then outer wind/water protection layer.

Healthy eating and physical activity habits are key to your child’s well-being. Eating too much and exercising too little may lead to overweight and related health problems that may follow children into their adult years. You can take an active role to help your child—and your whole family—learn healthy eating and physical activity habits that last a lifetime.
